Research output: Chapter

Abstract

Over the past decade, the European Union (EU) has introduced a number of major initiatives in an effort to respond to the growing problem of transnational organized crime (TOC). Chief among these are the European Security Strategy (ESS), the European Criminal Intelligence Model (ECIM) and the Organised Crime Threat Assessment (OCTA), all of which aim to improve information sharing, streamline intelligence generation and strengthen the degree of cooperation between national law enforcement agencies within the EU.
